Both Jacob and Caleb are both reading from the McGuffey Reader. Here are the words they know so far

We have completed lessons 1-12 in the McGuffey Reader. I would have them read and reread it till they could read it fluently. They both enjoy reading the early reader books from the library. Jacob especially likes the Bright and Early readers.

In his Writing and Grammar book they wanted him to plan out and write a story. He decided to write a story about Laser Tag.

Here are Jacob and Caleb's Reading and Writing samples. I could do it in blog form better than email, so here is goes. I'll start with Jacob. Jacob is 7 years old, will turn 8 in August. He just started reading within the last six months. He can read all the BOB books in set 1. He can read most Bright and Early readers with some help. He can read the McGuffey Primer lessons up to about lesson 12. The sample I am providing to you is him reading lesson 10 in the McGuffey Reader. He definately can read fluently enough to understand what he is reading. He can answer question about what he is reading or has been read to.
